ACM Professional and Student members have access to more than 1,200 online books from Elsevier on the ScienceDirect platform. The titles, which span both current editions and the backlist come from Elsevier's Computer Science "Insights" library, and most are published by the venerable Morgan Kaufmannand Syngress imprints. Other notable imprints include Academic Press, Butterworth-Heinemann, Chandos Publishing, Digital Press, Elsevier Science, Newnes, North-Holland, and Woodhead Publishing.
The Elsevier Computer Science collection covers the following topics: Artificial Intelligence, Computational Theory and Mathematics, Computer Graphics and Computer-Aided Design, Computer Networks and Communications, Computer Science Applications, Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, Hardware and Architecture, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems Signal Processing, and Software.
To access ScienceDirect, click on the ScienceDirect link in the top right corner of any ACM Learning Center page and enter your ACM Web Account username and password.
Elsevier Legacy Book Titles
Nearly all Elsevier books available to ACM members can be accessed via ScienceDirect. However, a number of popular "legacy" titles are not in ScienceDirect but can still be accessed through the ACM Digital Library. They are listed on this page (below and in the right sidebar). To download any of these legacy in PDF format, click on them and enter your ACM Web Account username and password in the ACM Digital Library.
